Things worth knowing
Perfect Pet Insurance offers Accident Only, Time Limited, Maximum Benefit and Lifetime policy types.
The provider states that lifetime cover applies to new conditions that start after the waiting period, with limits reinstated each year if the policy is renewed without a break in cover.
Waiting periods shown on the provider site are 14 days for illnesses and 5 days for accidents and injuries.
Perfect Pet defines pre-existing conditions as health problems present before the start date of the policy or within the waiting period, including undiagnosed signs later confirmed by a vet.
The provider states that its excess is £90 and is payable once per condition claimed for during each policy year.
For dogs aged 8 and over and cats aged 10 and over, Perfect Pet states that a 15% co-payment applies in addition to the excess.
Third party liability claims have a £250 excess according to the provider FAQ.
Full policy wording is available directly from Perfect Pet Insurance and should be checked before buying.
