Real quotes. Fixed profiles. Clear policy context.
We use standardised fictional pet profiles - the same details entered on every insurer website - so the quote inputs stay consistent.
We change the profile every Monday to prevent any insurer gaming the results. The current profile is always shown clearly above the price table.
Prices are collected manually from insurer quote journeys. No insurer can pay to appear higher, and the table shows cover, excess and co-payment context alongside the monthly premium.
We quoted all ten insurers for the same dog: a 2-year-old male neutered Labrador Retriever, no pre-existing conditions, based in London EC1A. All policies shown are lifetime cover. Insurers don't all offer the same cover levels, so we've shown the nearest available tier for each and displayed the actual cover limit clearly. Prices are correct as of 28 May 2026 and include Insurance Premium Tax.

These quotes are for illustrative purposes only. Your premium will vary based on your pet's age, breed, health history and postcode. We encourage you to get your own quote directly with each insurer.
* £/£1k is the annual premium divided by the cover limit in thousands. This gives a like for like value measure across different cover levels so you can compare fairly regardless of the vet fee limit shown. It does not account for policy extras, excess structure or co-payment terms.
† A co-payment means you contribute a percentage of each vet fee claim on top of your excess once your pet reaches the age shown. The percentage and terms vary by insurer. The full policy wording sets out the co-payment terms that apply.
‡ Purely Pets dental illness cover applies from year 2 of the policy onwards. Dental accidents are covered from day one.
Trustpilot scores are taken from each insurer's public Trustpilot page and updated periodically. British Pet Insurance has insufficient reviews on Trustpilot to display a meaningful score.
Pet insurers don't all offer the same cover levels, so direct price comparisons don't always tell the full story. We've used the £/£1k figure as one way to compare across different cover levels. The full policy wording sets out the terms that apply before purchase.
Track how quotes change across fixed test profiles, with each capture kept in a growing historical record.
These quotes are for a fixed fictional profile on the date shown. Cover limits, excess amounts and co-payment terms all vary between insurers, so a smaller monthly premium does not always mean better value. Always check the full policy details before buying.
Every Monday we email a summary of that week's quote captures, including notable premium, excess and co-payment movements. No spam. Unsubscribe anytime.
